The Washington Association on Postsecondary Education and Disability (W.A.P.E.D.), was established in 1982. The need and potential benefits were recognized for establishing an organization that could provide support and training for professionals working in disability support services at postsecondary institutions throughout the state.
Today, with more than 100 active members representing over 60 postsecondary institutions in the Pacific Northwest, WAPED continues to meet the needs of a growing membership. WAPED is a registered non-profit organization in the State of Washington.
