Mentoring Opportunities

If you were to ask veteran WAPED members what the one thing they find most valuable from their association with the organization, the overwhelming response would be peer mentoring. Each and every day we struggle to balance shrinking budgets with increased student enrollment, adaptive technology, staff, faculty, students, and all the issues that arise from the infinite combinations of these factors.

Since the beginning of the organization, WAPED has recognized the wisdom and expertise that its members have to offer each other. In addition, the sense of comradery experienced by WAPED members helps them perform better as disability support service professionals. Over the years we have learned major problem solving techniques through interactions with one another. We have come to rely on one another as we grapple with complex and ever changing disability issues. Although you can call or email any member of WAPED with a question, the Two-Year and Four-Year Board representatives are dedicated to serving as your mentors.

If you ever have any questions, concerns, need a soundboard or advice, please feel free to contact any one of us.

We look forward to working with you, and again, welcome to WAPED!

Sincerely,

Kerri, Bree, Meredith, and Kim
