Hello WAPED,
Thank you for considering me as a candidate for Technical Advisor to the Board for the 2010- 2011 term. I have been in the field of assistive technology since 1997. As a student I personally benefitted from these technologies and this first-hand experience was very influential in the development of my professional practice. In 2002 I assumed the AT Coordinator position at Central Washington University and I am currently the Assistant Director of Disability Services overseeing AT training, alternative format distribution and speech-to-text transcription for DHOH students. As a member of the CWU team, I have had the privilege of presenting at multiple local, regional, national and international professional conferences. From 2004 to 2006 I served as the Tech Advisor to the Board and I am very proud of our accomplishments during my two terms.
If you elect me to another term as Tech Advisor, I would focus on two main areas. The first would be a comprehensive review of the WAPED website to identify and address any areas of concern. The second would be a continued push to seek grant funding to provide print materials in alternative format to the smaller disability services programs around the state.
If you have any questions for me please feel free to email (campian@cwu.edu) or call (509.963.2171). Thanks again for your consideration!

My name is Marti Breneman, and I am a Program Support Supervisor in Disability Support Services at Spokane Falls. Teaching and interacting with students with disabilities has been a large part of my life for over 25 years, and WAPED has played an immense role in expanding my knowledge and professionalism over many of those years. It has also been a source of great encouragement and friendship, so I am very pleased to be given the opportunity to give back to WAPED as a nominee for Two-Year Rep, and I would be honored to have your support.

Disability Resource Center
My name is Bree Callahan, I work for Central Washington University as the Coordinator of CWU Westside University Centers. My role serves students, staff and faculty at the 6 Westside Centers in the Puget Sound Region. Something unique to the CWU Center format is that each Center is located on a 2 year community college campus, because of this I feel connected to the 2 yr system and how our students transition between each other. I am interested is maintaining my position as a 4 yr Representative for WAPED to continue to have the dialogue about transition and contribute to the development of the organization as we look to the future.
I have worked in the field of disability services for over 20 years, the
past seven years in higher ed. At the Evergreen State College.
I have been an active member of WAPED since 2001. I am constantly in
awe of the level of professionalism, support, camaraderie and friendship
of this amazing organization. I would be delighted and honored for the
opportunity to give something back to the membership as a four-year
representative.
Thank-you for your support. Meredith Inocencio
